Industrial Thermal Insulation Solutions
Hot, cold & cryogenic insulation | Fixed, removable & reusable systems. Insulation engineered to reduce heat loss or heat gain, hold process temperature, protect personnel where applicable, and control condensation, frosting and icing — for piping, valves, flanges, pumps, strainers, heat exchangers, reactors, vessels, tanks, boilers, furnaces, turbines, exhaust systems, ducts, manways, expansion joints, instrumentation and process equipment.

How the insulation is built.
Every insulation system is specified on two independent dimensions. The first is construction — whether the insulation is permanent, or made to be removed and refitted. This is decided by how often the equipment needs access.
Fixed / permanent insulation
- Hot-process piping and steam lines
- Chilled-water piping and refrigeration systems
- Cryogenic piping
- Tanks, vessels and reactors
- Boilers, furnaces and ducts
- Heat exchangers
- HVAC and utility systems
Removable & reusable insulation
- Valves, flanges and unions
- Pumps and strainers
- Heat exchangers and turbines
- Exhaust systems and manways
- Expansion joints and instrumentation
- General process equipment
Removable & reusable insulation jackets.
Each jacket is made to the shape of the part it covers, so it can be taken off for inspection or servicing and refitted afterwards. Depending on the application, jackets incorporate suitable high-temperature fabrics, insulation layers, fastening systems and protective outer covers.

Photographs show representative insulation jackets. Every jacket is manufactured to the dimensions and operating conditions of your equipment.
What the insulation is working against.
The second dimension is service — whether the system is holding heat in, keeping heat out, or operating at very low temperature. Service decides the material, thickness and vapour-barrier requirement. It is specified together with construction, not instead of it.
Hot insulation
Cold insulation
Cryogenic insulation
Construction and service are specified together.
A requirement is normally a combination of the two dimensions. Tell us the equipment and the service, and we confirm the construction that suits the access it needs.
| Construction | Hot | Cold | Cryogenic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed / permanent | Steam and hot-process lines, boilers, ducts | Chilled-water lines, refrigeration piping, cold storage | Cryogenic piping and storage tanks |
| Removable & reusable | Valves, flanges, exhausts, turbines, manways | Valves, flanges and fittings on cold service | Valves and fittings requiring periodic access |
Examples of where each combination is normally used. The system for your equipment is confirmed during engineering review.
Insulation materials & construction.
Material, thickness and protective construction are selected according to the application and technical requirement.
Selected according to
- Operating temperature
- Service conditions
- Equipment geometry
- Indoor or outdoor environment
- Moisture exposure
- Required surface temperature
- Maintenance and access requirements
Systems in industrial use
- Rock / mineral wool, ceramic fibre, calcium silicate
- PUF / PUR, PIR, elastomeric and cellular / foam-glass insulation
- High-temperature fabrics for removable jackets
- Aluminium, GI or stainless-steel cladding
- Vapour-barrier systems on cold and cryogenic service
Material and construction are selected according to the application and technical requirement. Isotherm confirms the material actually supplied against your specification at quotation stage.
Equipment we cover.
One partner for heating & insulation.
Heating, control and insulation are parts of the same thermal system. Isotherm engineers and manufactures across all three, so heat generation, temperature control and heat-transfer reduction can be specified together rather than sourced separately.
Not sure which insulation system you need?
Tell us what you are insulating, the operating temperature, whether it needs regular access, and the sizes involved. Our team will recommend fixed or removable insulation and the right build.
